Marla "Colleen" Calcote, 63, of Villa Ridge, passed away, Friday, June 10, 2022, at Sunset Health Care Center in Union in the comforting presence of her sister and her loving daughter who never left her side.

Colleen, as she preferred, was born August 15, 1958, in Fort Worth, Texas to the union of John McCollum and LlaMerle (Nix).

Colleen was quite the bookworm. She instilled her love of reading to her daughter at a young age having read the first "Harry Potter" to her a chapter a night, which would become their favorite series of books. She also enjoyed nature, hunting for unique rocks and arrowheads. Colleen also loved doing arts and crafts which aided in her ability to build dream catchers. In her younger years it was common for her, family and friends to attend concerts and have large family get togethers, whether it was to celebrate a birthday, important event or simply just to reconnect and gather. Most of all, Colleen loved her family and spoiling her grandson, who she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John McCollum and LlaMerle Daub; one nephew, Scotty Tibbets; one, niece, Sara Tibbets.

Colleen is survived by her loving daughter, Rebecca Calcote of Union; two brothers, Gerry Walker of Prairie Home, Missouri & John McCollum of Union; two sisters, Debby Hall and husband Tom of Macon & Donna Massman and husband Don of Beaufort; her grandson, Bentley Calcote of Union; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
