Mark A. Smith, 62, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan.

He was born May 7, 1964, in Poplar Bluff, MO to Mr. Billy and Carmelita (Baker) Smith. On May 13, 1989, he married Miss Linda M. Cleary in Clayton, MO. From this union they were blessed with two children.

Mark owned and operated Smith Fence Company for many years, this was a family business that started in St. Louis and Mark brought it to the Sullivan area. He was a member of Living World Church in Leasburg. He was an avid hunter, loved fishing, and riding his many Harleys over the years, but nothing could be more important to him than his grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife Linda (Cleary) Smith of Leasburg, daughter Brittany and husband Dillon Roach of Bourbon, MO., son Brenden Smith and wife Mercedes of Bourbon, MO., beloved parents Billy Smith and Carmelita Bailey both of Marble Hill, MO., grandchildren Willow, Oliver and Dean; sister, Robin Robertson and the late Gordon of Marble Hill, MO., uncle, great uncle and friend to many.

Mark was preceded in death by his brother Mike Smith. Mark will be greatly missed by his friends and family. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at Living Word in Leasburg, Mo., on Monday May 25, 2026, from 12-3 PM.
