Mark Lee Shephard, 60, of Gray Summit, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Washington.

On February 28,1962, Mark was born to the union of James Shephard and Alberta (Redhage) in St. Louis, Missouri.

Mark was united in marriage on February 6, 1988, to Ferny Pogue in Gray Summit.

He worked for the Meramec Valley School District as a groundskeeper for 34 years before retiring in 2020.

Mark was a member of the Gray Summit Methodist Church as well as K.O.A.

He loved being outdoors, taking advantage of the peacefulness and beauty the outdoors had to offer. Mark was an avid fisherman and Ferny and Mark enjoyed going camping and traveling.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, James and Alberta Shephard; three brothers, David Shephard, James Shephard and Thomas Shephard; father-in-law, Richard Pogue.

He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Ferny Shephard of Gray Summit; his best-friend and dog, Bandit; one brother, Paul Shephard and wife Dianne of Gray Summit; one sister, Carolyn Smith and husband Ronald of Krakow; mother-in-law, Mary Pogue of St. Clair; brother-in-law, Perry Pogue of St. Clair; nieces; nephews; other family and many friends.
