Marie Alida (Graff) Scott of Union, MO was born January 21, 1933 in Detroit, MI; daughter of the late George Graff and his wife, Mary (Olsen). Marie passed away Friday, June 7, 2024 at the age of 91 years.
Marie was united in marriage to Grant Scott on September 8, 1950 and the couple was blessed with six sons. She was a member of The Ridge Church in Villa Ridge, MO. She was a talented musician and played the piano and organ for Church of the Nazarene in St. Clair and First Christian Church in Union. Marie also worked as the secretary, and taught Sunday school, at First Christian Church. She enjoyed traveling, camping, and fishing. She was an avid animal lover and adored her dogs. But what Marie loved most in life was her family being together, especially at the holidays, vacations, and going to shows in Branson. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Grant Scott; her parents: Mary Newlin, her stepfather Henry Newlin, and George Graff; one son, Glenn Scott; one brother, Paul Graff; and one stepbrother, Lyle Newlin.
She is survived by five sons: Paul Scott and wife Cathy of Potosi, Wayne Scott and wife Lucy of Union, Bruce Scott and wife Sharon of Villa Ridge, Terry Scott and wife Joan of Villa Ridge, and George Scott and wife Kelly of Union; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Bruce Scott and wife Lorraine of Plano, TX; and many other relatives and friends.
Memorials in honor of Marie Scott can be made to the Franklin County Humane Society.
