Lorraine E. Skiles, nee Brown, 92, of Union, passed away Tuesday April 5, 2016 in New Haven.

Lorraine was a wonderful mother and homemaker. She was a smiling, cheerful person who loved to golf, ride horses and to play cards. She loved to appliqué quilt and in her later years spent many hours making and donating fleece blankets for Mercy Cancer Center.

She was born on Jan 3. 1924 and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.   She was united in marriage to Clifford E. Skiles on August 2, 1952.  She and her husband Clifford retired to Missouri in 1985.

Lorraine was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Union, Missouri.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Maude Brown; her husband, Clifford E.  Skiles and one sister, Dixie L. Hangge.

She is survived by three sons, Raymond Ayres and partner Felipe Marin of Cancun, Mexico, Richard Skiles and wife Catherine of Woodland Park, Colorado and Larry Skiles and wife Correne of Cranberry, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Marianne Simmons and husband Michael of Union; three grandchildren, Veronica Cushing and husband Mark, Michael Simmons Jr. and wife Ashley and Patrick Simmons and wife Christine; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; other relatives and many friends.
