Obituary

Linda M. Barnwell, 78, of Bourbon, passed away, Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Crab Apple Village in St. Clair.

On Christmas of 1944, Linda was born to the union of Johnny Fry and Hazel (Reagan) in Piggott, Arkansas.

Linda was united in marriage to her late husband, Joel Barnwell, on December 2, 1961, in Crockett, Arkansas.

She was a member of the Sullivan Church of Christ.

Linda never met a stranger. It is said that if you didn't say hello to her first then you would never get a chance to talk, but Linda loved to connect with people and genuinely cared about those that got the honor to meet and talk to her. Being a mother was Linda's number 1 hobby. She loved caring for her children and being an integral part of the running of the home. Joel and Linda spent 56 years together and, in that time, the whole family enjoyed camping, traveling and spending quality time. Linda and Joel's favorite places to eat were Cracker Barrell and Red Lobster. Linda also loved reading and going shopping. Most of all, it's known that Linda loved her family and friends very much. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Hazel Fry; one brother, Dallas Fry; one sister, Sharion Mayo; and her husband, Joel Barnwell.

Linda is survived by her two sons, David Barnwell and wife Allison of Gerald and Shayne Barnwell and wife Dianne of St. Clair; five grandchildren, Justin Barnwell and wife Shiela, Daniel Barnwell and wife Brook, Cody Barnwell, Christopher Barnwell and wife Taylor and Sarah Slocum; ten great-grandchildren, Tyler Scheer, Addison Scheer, Trevor Barnwell, Lydia Barnwell, Harrison Vos-Barnwell, Brooklynn Barnwell, Noralynn Barnwell, Emberlynn Barnwell, Leanna Slocum and Abigail Slocum; other relatives and many friends.
