Lester Sylvester Isgriggs of Bourbon, MO was born on June 23, 1942 in Cadet, MO; the son of Fred Isgriggs and his wife, Susie (Richards). Lester passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at the age of 80 years. He received his education from Fountain Farm School in Cadet, MO and St. Clair High School in St. Clair, MO. Lester was united in marriage to Carolyn (Lackey) on July 15, 1972 at First Baptist Church in Union, MO and three children blessed their marriage. He was employed at Jefferson Smurfit Corporation in Pacific, MO before his retirement in 2003. Lester was a member of the United Methodist Church in Bourbon and the Bourbon American Legion #81. In his younger years, he enjoyed coaching his son's baseball teams and his role as a Leader for their Boy Scout troops. He also enjoyed puzzles, fishing, and collecting coins. The time Lester cherished most was the time spent with his family and friends, and he will be greatly missed.
Lester was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Susie Isgriggs; one son, Ronald Isgriggs; four brothers: Stanley Coxie Sr., Garland Isgriggs, Jason Isgriggs Sr., and Bobbie Isgriggs; two sisters: Helen Sue Isgriggs and Beulahh Herbst; and one daughter-in-law, Georgye Isgriggs.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Carolyn Isgriggs of Bourbon; one son, Kevin Isgriggs and fiancée, Stephanie Bonney of Sullivan; one daughter, Lesley Isgriggs of Bourbon, eight grandchildren: John Anderson, Layne Anderson, Abbey (Luke) Weiskopf, Nicole (Devan) Baker, Katie Isgriggs, Dillon Isgriggs, Trenity Isgriggs, and Keyara Isgriggs; one great-grandchild, Andrew Baker; two brothers: Luther Isgriggs and wife Jackie of Washington, and William "Billy" Isgriggs and wife Jennifer of Union; six sisters: Florence Ziegler of Villa Ridge, Flossie Birmingham of Union, Ida Fritz of Washington, Goldie DeClue of Gray Summit, Nancy Nevills and husband Glenn of Villa Ridge, and Bonnie Smith and husband Lyman of Pacific; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Memorial Donations in honor of Lester Isgriggs are preferred to the Bourbon United Methodist Church or the Bourbon Fire Department.
