Leroy "Roy" Williams, of Union, passed away on his 83rd birthday in the presence of his loving family on Friday, February 7, 2025.  He was born in Rolla, the son of Charles and Florence (Drew) Williams on February 7, 1942.

Roy married the love of his life, Barbara (McKean), at the First Baptist Church in St Clair, on October 19, 1963.

He was employed as a machinist supervisor with McDonnell-Douglas for over 34 years, where he received extensive training in tooling for aircraft manufacturing. In his early years, he also served as an Auxiliary Policeman for the city of Union and was a member of a gospel quartet.

Roy was faithful to the churches that he attended, serving as minister of music, trustee and singing in the choir.  He was currently a member of The Ridge Church in Villa Ridge. Roy had many interests such as singing, collecting model trains, playing cards with friends and traveling with his wife, with Colorado being his favorite state. He enjoyed making furniture, woodworking of any kind and gifting the many cup trees that he made over the years. He was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and  a former Rams fan that had converted to become a Chiefs fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Florence Williams; two brothers, Vernon Williams and Bill Williams.

Roy is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara Williams; one son, Scott and wife Rhonda of Springfield; one daughter, Tambra Sheppard and husband Duke of Colorado; two brothers, Dean Williams of Mt. Vernon, Kevin Williams of Missouri; two grandchildren, Colton Williams and fiancé Stephanie Vickroy of Springfield, Chloe Williams of Springfield;  nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
