September 6, 1941 – February 8, 2025
Leroy Wideman of Sullivan, MO was born September 6, 1941, in Washington, MO; the son of Grover Wideman and his wife, Evaline (Keen). Leroy passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the age of 83 years.
He was united in marriage to Ann (Bigley) on February 16, 1963, in St. Clair and the couple celebrated 61 years of marriage before Ann's passing on April 6, 2024. Leroy was employed by Brown Shoe Factory until their closure. He was an excellent woodworker and loved going to auctions, flea markets, and yard sales. Leroy also enjoyed farming and being outdoors. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Wideman; his parents, Grover and Evaline Wideman; infant twin sons: Terry and Jerry Wideman; seven brothers: Gilbert Wideman, Ralph Wideman, Lawson Wideman, Marvin Wideman, Howard Wideman, Orville Wideman, and Robert Wideman; and five sisters: Roselie Ireland, Goldie Brewer, Hazel Kommer, Sylvia Bender, and Gladys Kopf.
He is survived by two sons: Lee Wideman and wife Diana of St. Clair, and Erick Wideman and wife Renae of Sullivan; four grandchildren: Timothy Wideman, Chad Wideman, Brianna Ackert, and Samantha Piles; two great-granddaughters: Paisley Wideman and Renley Piles; and many other relatives and friends.
