Leola Helena (Frick) Rowden of Union, Missouri, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the age of 80 years. She was born January 16, 1945, in Washington, Missouri; the daughter of Henry Frick and his wife, Evelyn (Gerdes).
Leola received her education from Immaculate Conception Grade School and Union High School. She was united in marriage to Kenny Rowden on April 19, 1965, and they made their home in Union. The couple was blessed with two daughters and happily celebrated 35 years of marriage until Kenny's passing on January 17, 2000. Leola then found a second chance at love and was married to Raymond "Bob" Grubb until his passing on July 21, 2013.
Leola was employed at United Bank of Union until her retirement after 45 years of service. She was an active member of Immaculate Conception Church in Union. She enjoyed shopping, reading, and word search puzzles. She found particular delight in spending time with her grandchildren and picking on her sons-in-law. Leola was a kind lady with a great sense of humor, and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Leola was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenny Rowden; her second husband, Bob Grubb; her parents, Henry and Evelyn Frick; two siblings in infancy, David Frick and Mary Frick; and one sister-in-law, Kay Frick.
She is survived by two daughters, Tricia Rego and husband Jeff, of St. Clair, and Kristie Schmidt and husband Greg, of Union; six grandchildren, Amanda (Todd) Hemker, Meghan (Brandon) Heskett, Jeremy (Shania) Rego, Joseph Rego, Kenny Schmidt, and Sadie Schmidt; four great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Jaxton, River, and Paisley; three siblings, Virgil Frick, of Texas, Jim (Paula) Frick, of St. Louis, and Linda Brandes, of St. Louis; and many other relatives and friends.
Memorials in honor of Leola Rowden can be made to the breast cancer or pancreatic cancer organization of donors choice.
