Laurie Becker, 68, of Villa Ridge, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025. Daughter of Howard and Hettie (Carroll) Becker, she was born in St. Louis on December 29, 1956.

Laurie worked as a cashier at Summit Stop in Gray Summit until her retirement in 2018. She enjoyed collecting anything with an elephant on it and had a green thumb when it came to houseplants, which she thoroughly enjoyed growing and caring for. One of her favorite pastimes was going to car shows with her 67' and 78' Camaros.

She spent over forty-four years with her partner and companion, Darrell Chitwood, and through the years, they traveled from the East Coast to the West Coast and back several times. They were able to visit many of the National Parks in the western states, and on one three-week trip, they drove to Alaska and back.

Laurie was preceded in death by her father, Howard Becker; and one brother-in-law, Randy Gortney.

She is survived by Darrell Chitwood, of Villa Ridge; her mother, Hettie Becker, of Union; sisters, Louise Macijewski, of Washington, and Lanett Gortney, of Union; one nephew, Caleb Gortney; nieces, Emily Gortney, Yvette, and Yvonne; great-nieces and nephews, Jackson, Lynnlee, Braxton, Harper, and Charley; other relatives and many friends.
