Larry David
Missey
March 14, 1947 – August 23, 2025
Larry David Missey, of Union, Missouri, has lived a full and joyful life rooted in family, laughter, and love. Born on March 14, 1947, in Missouri to Harry H. Missey and Beulah B. (Todd) Missey, Larry has spent his years bringing humor, warmth, and quick wit to everyone around him.
He dedicated over 35 years to Ameren, where he was known for his strong work ethic and steady reliability. In addition to his professional life, Larry proudly served his country in the Air Force National Guard, retiring after a commendable military career.
Larry shared his life with his loving wife, Delores Missey. Together, they built a family full of memories and meaning. He is the proud father of Antoinette Bickel, the late Stacie Missey, Bryan Missey, and Matthew Missey. His legacy continues through seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him endless joy.
Whether he was spending time with his family, traveling, or relaxing in his man cave with a favorite show, Larry found happiness in the simple moments. He was hard-working, funny, quick-witted, and a little bit stubborn—in the best way.
Known for telling the same jokes (over and over), repeating cherished stories, and tossing out random one-liners that stuck with you, Larry could always be counted on to make someone laugh. His favorite sayings, "Today is a great day to be alive" and "If I was any better, I couldn't stand it," perfectly capture his positive outlook and enduring spirit.
His life is a testament to resilience, humor, and love. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.
