Kimber W. "Bill" Key, 91, of St. Clair passed away, Sunday, September 17, 2017 at his home.
Mr. Key, son of the late Nobel Key and wife Nellie nee Decker was born December 25, 1925 in St. Louis.
On December 19, 1948, he was united in marriage to Ruth Fuller in St. Louis.
Bill worked for the family business, Keys Restaurant and Oil Company in Villa Ridge.
He was a member of the Masonic family, Lodge 593 in Union, achieving 33° Scottich Rite Mason. He was also a member of the Shriner's Moolah Temple in St. Louis. Member of the Royal Arch and Grand Chaplain for two years. Advisor to the order of DeMolay and Rainbow Dad for the Rainbow Girls and Grand Cross of Colors. On February 18, 1951, he joined the Eastern Star Naomi Chapter 296.
As a faithful member of The First Baptist Church in St. Clair where he donated his time as a Sunday School Teacher.
He enjoyed camping, traveling and spending time with his family.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Nobel and Nellie Key; one brother, Kenneth Robert Key; one sister-in-law, Shirley Key and his grandson, Greg Hofstetter.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Key of St. Clair; four daughters, Shelia Hofstetter of St. Clair, Brenda Monahan and husband Kevin of Washington, Karla Perkins and husband Thomas of St. Clair and Amy Key of Big Falls, MN; six grandchildren, Wendy Key, Tracy Perkins and wife Diana, Toby Perkins and wife Susan, Aaron Dixon and wife Jennifer, Josh Perkins and Christy Calvert and husband Tony; fourteen great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Cox, Kayla Worthington, Blake Schlater, Alex Edwards, Klara Perkins, T.J. Griffith, Jocelyn Dixon, Tommy Perkins, Hailey Calvert, Aaden Dixon, Tanner Perkins, Sophia Calvert, Taylor Perkins and Evelyn Perkins; four great-great-grandchildren, Mia Schlater, Jett Schlater, Derek Cox and Taylen Cox; special cousin, Jeannine Stuart of St. Louis; other relatives and many friends.
