Kim
Turnbaugh
March 8, 1958 – November 13, 2025
Kim Painter Turnbaugh, 67, died Nov. 13, 2025, at Pacific Care Center in Pacific, Missouri. A proud Nana and mother, she loved cooking and spending time with her family.
She was born March 8, 1958, in St. Louis, Missouri; the daughter of Hugh V. "John" and Jeffoline Painter.
She attended Parkway North High School, graduating in 1976. She spent her childhood growing up in Pagedale and Creve Coeur, Missouri. Kim loved to travel and visit her Southern relatives with her parents during her early childhood. She also loved backyard BBQs and was known for her shrimp gumbo, a family tradition.
In 1981, she married Gary Lang, and they were married for more than 20 years. She married JR Turnbaugh in 2003; he died in 2024.
Kim was a homemaker and loved her three children and grandchildren dearly, having a bond with each of them. She spoke her mind but was also very loving—a best friend to her grown children, who cared for their friends like they were family. She made new friends wherever she went. She loved her flowers in her yard and enjoyed her independence, even in a wheelchair later in life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Jeffoline Painter; and grandparents, Lois Landuyt, Clarence Martin, and Idabelle Breeden.
She is survived by her three children, Vanessa (Mike) Keesey, of Union, Chrissy Rodgers, of Villa Ridge, and Joey Lang, of Union; a brother, Vincent (Christy) Painter, of Derby, Kansas; and seven grandchildren, Raya Lenox, Brinlee Pedrotti, Brylee "August" Stahlman, Jaylyn Stahlman, Nevaeh Lang, Cali Lang, and Buddi Lang.
