The Reverend Chaplain Kenneth J. Knutson, 74, of Union, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, August 28, 2018.

Ken was born July 15, 1944 in La Crosse, Wisconsin to the late Raymond Knutson and Jean nee Lindsey.

Ken was a graduate of Luther College and Luther Seminary, he entered the ministry and served E.L.C.A Parishes in South Dakota and Wisconsin. He was called into the Army as a Chaplain and served 23 years active duty before retiring. Ken would go on to serve as Pastor at the Peace Lutheran Church in Washington and teach at East Central Extension Campuses.

Ken was an avid golfer and a Green Bay Packers fan. He loved his family, his dog and his two cats passionately.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Jean Knutson; one sister, Karen Byrnes and his daughter, Heather Knutson.

Those who are left to remember Ken are his wife of 51 years, Sue Knutson of Union; four sons, Richard Knutson, Ron Knutson of Houston, TX, Matthew Knutson and wife Janey of Union, Josh Knutson and wife Stephanie of O'Fallon; one daughter, Heidi Jackson and husband Paul of O'Fallon; one brother, Jon Knutson and wife Diane of Stoughton, WI; one great-aunt Joan Knutson of Tracy, MN; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Memorial donations to Zion United Church of Christ Choir Fund are preferred.
