Obituary

Kenneth Morgan Evans, 83, of St. Clair, Missouri, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, November 8, 2025, in St. Louis.

He was born on January 7, 1942, in Kennett, Missouri, the son of William Elco Evans and Miva (Morgan) Evans. Brother to Christine Turner and William (Bill) Evans. They were lovingly raised by their Aunt Maggie in Naylor, Missouri.

When Kenneth was in the 10th grade, his English teacher told the class they were to do a book report and then give an oral presentation in front of the class. Kenneth, being very shy and quiet, decided the best way to get out of doing the report was to quit school and proudly serve his country in the United States Navy at the age of 17.

From 1959 to 1965, which was during the Cuban Missile Crisis, he served on the U.S.S. Boston as a radar man, listening for Russian submarines. He traveled to several ports in the Mediterranean Sea.

Following his service in the Navy, he was employed by the Ford Motor Company Assembly Plant in St. Louis, where he married Juanita Meadors of Doniphan, had 2 sons, and worked faithfully for more than 32 years before retiring.

In 1984, he was united in marriage with Barbara, whom he affectionately called his Angel.

They built a house on Kentucky Lake, with Ken overseeing all the details and doing much of the work. There were many wonderful memories made in their home on the lake with family, friends, and grandkids who would come for weekends of fun on the water. Ken always had the boat ready and enjoyed watching everyone ski. He loved to watch the grandkids laugh and have fun as he pulled them behind the boat on assorted floats. Many caught their first fish there on the dock in Kentucky.

A man of many talents, there weren't many things he couldn't do. If he didn't know how to do it, he would sit quietly thinking until he figured it out. Whether it was building a house, fixing a car, or even sewing, he didn't know the word "can't."

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents and his dear Aunt Maggie.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara Evans, of St. Clair; his sons, Kenneth Evans, Jr., and wife Connie, of Doniphan, and Ron Evans and wife Daisy, of Union; stepdaughter, Cindy Busse and husband Terry, of St. Clair; stepson, Joseph Delgado, of California; and stepdaughter, Maryann Mann and husband Andy, of Oak Ridge; his brother, William Evans and wife Margaret, of Missouri; and his sister, Christine Turner, of Doniphan. He was the proud grandfather of Erica Baker and husband Jeremy, of Marble Hill, Ryan Evans and wife Jessie, of California, Morgan Evans and wife Katie, of Texas, Laura Oblon and husband Robert, of Indiana, Case Busse, of St. Clair, Matha Evans, of Union, Joseph Delgado Jr., of California, Renee Phan, of California, Corina Ridder and husband Lucas, of Texas, Daniel Delgado, of Texas, Alycia Delgado, of Alabama, Ashley Mann, of Cape Girardeau, and Lauren Mann, of St. Louis. He was blessed with 23 great-grandchildren.

Ken, also known as Dad, Grandpa, and Great Grandpa, loved his family deeply. He was a quiet man, preferring to listen to others rather than talk, but he took what was said to heart. He always asked about everyone with genuine concern. As you left their house, you often heard him say, "you be careful" or "you be good."

We will miss him deeply but also rejoice that he is no longer living with the cruel disease that took him from us.

Revelation 21:4

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
