Kenneth L. Downey, 75 of St. Clair passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at his home. Mr. Downey, son of the late Edwin Downey and wife Susie Ann nee Hawkins was born February 21, 1939 in St. Clair. On June 3, 1967 he was united in marriage to Patricia Hawkins in St. Clair. Mr. Downey worked for the City of St. Clair in the Public Works Department from 1974 until his retirement in 2000. In his spare time he enjoyed the outdoors, working in his yard, repairing mowers and cars. He especially liked spending time with his family. Mr. Downey was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Susie Downey and his granddaughter, Brittany Michelle Downey. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Downey of St. Clair; one son, Larry Downey and wife Danette of St. Clair; three daughters, Tammy Downey and companion Luke Lackey, Mary Ann Downey and Tiffany Downey and companion Brad Bush all of St. Clair; five grandchildren, Felicia Downey, David Leo Lackey, Lakota Lackey, Jace Downey and Gavin Downey all of St. Clair; two great-grandchildren, Shayna Paul and Trenton Rose; three brothers, Floyd Downey and wife Judy of Anaconda, Bill Downey and wife Donna of St. Clair and Gene Wagner of St. Clair; four sisters, Carolyn Hemker and companion Gary Palmer, JoAnn Halmich and husband Gary, Donna Ejchler and husband Stanley and Judy George and husband Dutch all of St. Clair; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends.
