Kathryn "Kate" (Weirich) Phillips of Sullivan, MO passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, August 26, 2024, at the age of 50 years. She was born October 1, 1973, in Washington, MO; the daughter of Carl Weirich and his wife, Cheri (Finder).

Kate received her education from Union High School, graduating with honors with the class of 1993, before attending East Central College in Union. She was united in marriage to Corey Phillips on July 9, 1994, and the couple was blessed with four children.  Kate worked as the education coordinator at both Michael's Crafts and JoAnn's Fabrics in Washington for several years.  She is also the owner of Five Cats Crafts which was her custom craft business. Kate was incredibly passionate about helping and caring for animals, rescuing several animals over the years. She loved playing with her cats, Wacko and Yacko, and her three dogs, Mally, Shooter, and AJ.  She also enjoyed reading, going to the river, and fishing.  What Kate valued most in life was her family, and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Corey Phillips of Sullivan; her parents, Carl and Cheri Weirich of Bourbon; four children: Christopher Phillips of Sullivan, Emily Phillips of Sullivan, Briana Fischer and husband Mike of Union, and Ashley Phillips of Sullivan; five siblings: Greg Weirich of Leasburg, Pat Weirich of St. Peters, Phillip Weirich of Sullivan, Kristine Weirich of Bourbon, and Jessica Weirich of Sullivan; one granddaughter, Catherine Fischer; nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
