Obituary

Kathryn (Kathy) L. Hymer nee Smart, 70 of Villa Ridge passed away Monday, October 5, 2015 at her home. Mrs. Hymer, daughter of Earl Roy Smart and wife Estelle nee Batson was born June 7, 1945 in Buffalo, Missouri. On May 20, 1966 she was united in marriage to Ron Hymer in Buffalo, MO. She received her education at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO and graduated with a Teaching Degree and Major in Music. Serving as a Pastor's wife for over 49 years gave her the opportunity to minister and touch countless lives through her music, counseling, teaching, witnessing and her amazing personality and sense of humor. She served with her husband in the states of Missouri, Illinois, Oklahoma and Virginia. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family and various crafts. She also enjoyed planting and caring for various flowers and plants whether inside or outside the home. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Villa Ridge. Mrs. Hymer was preceded in death by her father, Earl Roy Smart. She is survived by her husband, Ron Hymer of Villa Ridge; two sons, Timothy Hymer and wife Stacy of Labadie and Jonathan Hymer and wife Annie of Union; one daughter, Becky Peoples and husband Mike of Marthasville; her mother, Estelle Smart of Villa Ridge; one brother, James Smart and wife Kathy of El Sobrante, CA; eight grandchildren, Derek Hymer, Samantha Hymer, Ryan Peoples, Shaun Peoples, Marcus Peoples, Natalie Peoples, Leah Hymer and Sara Hymer; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends.
