Julia "Gayle" Williams (Smith), 67 of Union passed away Sunday, February 13, 2022 at her home.

Gayle, daughter of James R. Smith and wife Mary Ellen (Brinkley) was born November 15, 1954 in Dixon, Missouri.

On December 31, 1976 she was united in marriage to Chester Williams in Rolla.

Gayle was a long-time employee at Michaels in Washington. On her personal time, she loved to make many different craft projects as well as painting being her favorite. She always enjoyed watching her grandchildren's play soccer and softball.

Gayle was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary Ellen Smith; one son, Timothy Karr and one sister, Patricia Harris.

She is survived by her husband, Chester Williams of Union; two sons, Shawn Williams of Union and Eric M. Williams of Union; one brother, Windel Smith and wife Linda of Florrisant; one sister, Gay Scovel and husband Berry of Colorado Springs, CO; four grandchildren, Jordan Williams, Julie Williams, Elijah Williams and Kenneth "Jude"; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Memorial donations to the Franklin County Humane Society are preferred.
