Judith "Judy" (Brugnone) Messex of Sullivan, MO was born October 17, 1945, in Fort Pierce, FL; the daughter of John Brugnone and his wife, Mary "Delores" (Blackford). Judy passed away unexpectedly Thursday, December 12, 2024, at the age of 79 years.
Judy received her education from Pacific High School, graduating with the class of 1964, and Kirkwood College in St. Louis. She was united in marriage to Henry D. Messex, Sr. on September 29, 1973, in Pacific and two children blessed their union. Judy worked at Six Flags in Eureka when it originally opened, and it had special meaning to her as her dad was involved in the construction of the big fountain in the front. She then sold Watkins Products which is where she met her future husband, Henry. Judy also sold Avon and was in the Presidents Club for eight years. Her favorite job was as a popular school bus driver for the Spring Bluff School District for thirteen years. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Pacific and Royal Neighbors of America.
Judy was very active and liked meeting new people. She enjoyed cooking family recipes, camping, fishing, and spending summers at Lost Valley Resort. She also loved vacationing and cruises with her family to tropical destinations. She had traveled over most of the United States. Judy adored games, whether it be playing cards, bingo, board games, or gambling. She was very much family oriented, and she cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Messex, Sr; her parents: Delores Brugnone, and John and Freida Brugnone; two sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Zekoll and Anna Mae Neier; and seven brothers-in-law: Joe Selby, Jim Vanderpool, Joe Messex, John Messex, Jim Messex, Tom Messex, and Jerry Messex.
She is survived by one son, David Messex and wife Amy of Bourbon; one daughter, Mary E. Messex of Sullivan; three sisters: Janice Selby of Paducah, KY, Jeannie (Scott) Parsell of Jerseyville, IL, and Johnnie Jonell (David) Brugnone of Eureka; three grandchildren: Colby Messex, Brandon (Rebecca) Messex, and Bryanna (Justin) Cahill; five great-grandchildren: Luke Messex, James Messex, Alexander Messex, Ella Cahill, and Alaina Cahill; nieces and nephews who loving called her Grandma; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Vanderpool and Pearl Courtway, both of Gerald; and many other relatives and friends.
