Obituary

Juanita Burke nee Crossland, 85 of Jefferson City, formerly of Labadie passed away August 26, 2009 at Westphalia Retirement Center.

Mrs. Burke daughter of the late Thomas William Crossland and wife Della May nee Wright was born February 4, 1924, in St. Louis, Missouri.

On February 16, 1941, she was united in marriage to William Michael Burke in Gray Summit, who preceded her in death on January 12, 1997.

Juanita worked for several years as a cook at Coleman School in Villa Ridge, but her lifetime occupation was as wife and mother.

She was a member of the Labadie United Methodist Church, Friends of Old Bethel, and DAV Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Della Crossland; her husband William Burke; one brother, Aubrey Crossland; two sisters, Lucy Clark and Mildred Vaughn; and one nephew, Donald Baublite.

She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Tomlin and husband Glenn P. of Huntsville, Alabama and Patricia Joann "Jodi" Quick and husband David of Jefferson City; two grandsons, William Howard Tomlin and wife Buffy of Gladstone, MO, and Kenneth Patrick Tomlin of Jefferson City; one granddaughter, Melissa Joann Sisco and husband Joshua of Huntsville, Alabama; one great-grandson, Connor William Tomlin: four great-granddaughters, Keely Nicole Tomlin, Kinsey Shae Tomlin, Lana Kathryn Sisco, and Mylee Danielle Sisco; sister-in-law, Marion Pfeiffer; brother-in-law, Richard Burke; special caregivers, Marilyn and Ed Heisel, Nub Warnebold, Barbara and Bill Troutman and Dennis and Judy Fischer; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
