Joyce Spence nee Immekus, 75 of Union passed away Sunday, May 10, 2009 in Gerald.

Mrs. Spence daughter of the late Edgar Immekus and wife Pearl nee Politte was born June 16, 1933 in St. Clair, Missouri.

Joyce was baptized at the Methodist Church in St. Clair on April 17, 1938.

She received her education from St. Clair High School and graduated May 17, 1951.

She was a life long member of the American Legion Auxiliary and in 2007 received a plaque for fifty years of continuous service.

On November 7, 1970 she was united in marriage to Terry Spence of Union.

Mrs. Spence was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Pearl Immekus; one brother, Donald Immekus.

She is survived by her husband Terry Spence of Union; two sons, Michael Friend of St. Ann, Missouri and Mark Spence of Villa Ridge; three step-children, Robin Johnson and husband George of Lebanon, Keven Spence and wife Joy Kay of Eldon and Beckwith Crocker and husband Lyle of Jefferson City; three granddaughters, Brandy Friend, Terri Friend and Mary Friend; one half-brother, Alfred Woodcock; one half-sister, Jacqueline Johnson; seven step-grandchildren; one great-grandson; eight step-great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
