Joseph Anthony Vagedes Jr., 80, of St. Clair was accompanied by his wife and family as he passed from this world to meet our Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 5th, 2018 at his home.
Mr. Vagedes, son of the late Joseph Vagedes Sr. and wife Isabella (Salisbury) was born May 18, 1938 in St. Louis.
On May 1, 1992 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth in Eureka.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Sr. and Isabella Vagedes; one son, Kenneth Vagedes and one sister, Virginia Altmeyer.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Vagedes of St. Clair; four children, David Vagedes and wife Donna of Fletcher, Jen'nai Young of St. Clair, Christina Smith and family of House Springs and Joseph C. Vagedes and family of Hillsboro; one sister, Patricia Henkin of Webster Groves; uncle, mentor, confidant and so much more to a countless number of nieces and nephews.
Uncle Joe (as he was so affectionately known) was the owner of Jefferson County Glass for 50 years. Joseph was a valued member and sponsor to many for the Alcoholics Anonymous organization. He built two homes from scratch and many will know of the lighthouse on the hill. Joe was and will always be remembered as the man who people go to for advice and fun. He was an artist, father, husband, runner, soccer player and was always there to help and give a helping hand
Joe will be missed and remembered by all who met him, and he touched every life he encountered.
