Joseph Felix Ouellette, 93, of Robertsville, passed away in the presence of his loving family on Saturday, October 21, 2023.
Joseph was born to the union of Hubald and Blanche (Miller) Ouellette, in Edmundston, New Brunswick, Canada, on Wednesday, May 7, 1930.
He was active in many organizations including the Union Senior Center, St Clair American Legion and Rover Scouts. He loved to plant trees and garden, but would never pass up a good fishing trip, most of all the Frenchman loved spending time taking others fishing, swimming or out for a bite of ice cream.
Joseph was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served during the Korean war era when he enlisted before gaining a dual U.S. and Canadian citizenship. He was active in business in St Clair having owned and managed Frenchie's Shell Service & Towing who's slogan was "Look for the handsome Frenchman", AAA Speed Shop and Rent-A-Hubby. In his later years he was employed as a real estate agent in the Franklin County area.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubald and Blanche Ouellette; wife, Marlene Ouellette; one son, Paul McGraw; three brothers, Reginald Ouellette, Claude Ouellette, Fernand Ouellette; three sisters, Alice Ouellette, Fernande Belleau, Lorreane Ouellette; one son-in-law, Donald R. Chapman.
Joseph is survived by two sons, Steve Ouellette and wife Jean of Cedar Hill, Melvin Ouellette and wife Cynthia of Pacific; five daughters, Debby Withington and husband Jeff of Sullivan, Sherry Chapman of Villa Ridge, Mary Ouellette and Rich McDaniel of Pacific, Wende Ouellette of Robertsville, Stacey Ouellette and Bradley McIntyre of Robertsville; one brother, Paul Ouellette and wife Rita of Maine; two sisters, Rachel Ouellette of Canada, Gisele Bellanger and husband Jean Paul of Canada; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; his first wife Alwilda Riney and husband Edward; nieces; nephews; cousins and many friends.
