Joseph E. Bennett II "Jebby", 74, of New Haven passed away Monday, February 8, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.

On June 13, 1946, Joe was born to the union of Joseph E. Bennett I and Lillian M. (Diehl) in Manhattan, New York.

Joe attended CBC High School in New York and afterward in college would earn his Associates in Computer Science.

He served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.

On June 29, 1968 Joe would be united in marriage to Roberta A. (Greenwald) in Reno, Nevada.

Joe worked as a restaurant manager, truck driver and a mail carrier over the years.

He was a parishioner of Assumption Catholic Church.

Joe was a boxer back in the navy. He liked playing card games such as Gin Rummy and Canasta, as well as dominos and UNO with his children and grandchildren. Joe loved to dance with his wife to the song, "In the Mood" by the Glenn Miller band.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents Joseph I and Lillian Bennett; brother, Robert Bennett; son, Donald P. Bennett; sister-in-law, Marie Bennett.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta Bennett of New Haven; three sons, Robert N. Bennett, Joseph Bennett III and wife Tina and William Bennett and wife Elizabeth; three daughters, Victoria Bennett, Katherine Jenkins and Elizabeth Bennett; brother, William "Billy" Bennett and wife Linda; thirteen grandchildren, Justin, Aimee, Robert, Jennifer, Stephanie, Nathan, Jewel, Audrey, William, Krista, Madeline, Kelson and Lillian; great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
