Jon Lee Bortzfield, 82, of Pacific passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018 at his home.

Mr. Bortzfield, son of the late Lee Bortzfield and wife Opal nee Swor was born July 15, 1935 in Prescott, Kansas.

On December 11, 1996 he was united in marriage to Maryann Barker in Pensacola, Florida.

Jon served his country in the United States Navy. He received a China Service Medal and proudly served thirty years to receive retired military status.

He was a member and Past Commander of VFW Post 2482 in St. Clair. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge Chapter 129 in Pacific.

Jon was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Opal Bortzfield and one sister, Maxine White.

He enjoyed hunting, target shooting and volunteering his time for the VFW cooking shrimp. Most of all he loved spending time with his wife, dog Ollie and family.

He is survived by his wife Maryann Bortzfield of Pacific; two daughters, Kathy Papish and husband Ray of St. Charles and Betty Dalton of Ashland, Virginia; five grandchildren, Jacob Monroe, Jessica Monroe, Brian Minton and wife Heather, Robert Dalton and wife Jessica and Cheryl Vortisch; four great-grandchildren, Brendan, Chase, Paisley and Parker other relatives and many friends.
