John L. Smith, 81, of St. Peters passed away Thursday, October 17, 2019 in St. Peters.

John was born November 19, 1937 in St. Louis.

On May 30, 1969 he was united in marriage to Eulah "Cricket" Gentry in St. Louis.

John was preceded in death by his mother, Mae Poynter; his wife, Eulah "Cricket" Smith; one daughter, Donna Gens; one brother, Bob Poynter Sr. and two sisters, Hazel Tustanowsky and Margaret Poynter.

He is survived by two sons, Michael Rounds and wife Maria of St. Charles and Ronnie Rounds and wife Jeanne of Volo, IL; eight grandchildren, Kenny Rounds and wife Chelsey of Troy, Anna Rounds of St. Charles, Allisha Wall and husband Daniel of St. Charles, Russell Rounds of Volo, IL, Caitlin Rounds of Volo, IL, Larry Rounds and wife Shelley of Wichita, KS, Mark Gens of Camdenton and Angela Gens of Camdenton; great-grandchildren, nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Association are preferred.
