John Edwin Papin, 98. of St. Clair passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016 at his home.

Mr. Papin, son of the late Almah Papin and wife Mary nee Kroediner was born March 5, 1918 in Bonne Terre, Missouri.

On October 26, 1991 he was united in marriage to Melody Bauman.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in St. Louis as well as the Carpenter's Union in St. Louis.

Mr. Papin owned and operated Papin Home Builders and Papin Reality were he constructed and sold his own homes.  His work was awarded The Home Builders Award.

He enjoyed gardening and attracting numerous hummingbirds to his home.  He had a great love for all animals especially dogs.

Mr. Papin was preceded in death by his parents, Almah and Mary Papin; his son John Papin; three brothers, Lawrence Papin, Charles Papin and Edwin Papin and one sister, Evelyn Oliver.

He is survived by his wife Melody Papin of St. Clair; his children, Lauren Baughman and husband John Kyle of Washington, Crystal Crisp and husband Willie of Sunset Hills, William Papin and wife Beth of House Springs, Mary Chrapek of Crestwood, Jim Papin and wife Karen of Crestwood, Jean Grove and husband George of Wentzville; grandchildren, George Grove and wife Dawn, Pam Harrell and husband Howard, Mike Grove and wife Lindsey, James Papin and wife Summer, Kimberly Dishman and husband Mark, Jason Papin and wife Leslie, Matt Papin and wife Katy, Jennifer Papin and husband Keith and many other grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; many great-greatgrandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
