John Henry Kriete, 72, of Villa Ridge, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur.

On January 10, 1949, John was born to the union of Ralph Kriete and Ruth (Wilson) in Washington.

He was a member of the VFW in St. Clair and the American Legion also in St. Clair.

John worked as an electrician until his retirement and was a proud member of the IBEW Local #1.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph Kriete and Ruth Wilson; half-brother, Steven Baur.

John is survived by his wife, Kay Kriete of Washington; two daughters, Chantel Hawkins and husband Tim of Iowa and Chavalla "Cookie" Matau and husband Shannon of Union; two step-sons, Tim Barnhart of Washington and Kenneth Barnhart of Washington; step-daughter, Amy Kopp and husband Joe of Washington; sister, Judy Mays of Washington; Mother-In-Law, Bobbie Beuke of Washington; aunt, Betty Dobsch of Washington; nephew, Dan Mays of Texas; eight grandchildren, Mackenzie, Sebastian, Kai, Adam, Tyler, Stanley, Jamie and Kenzlie; one great-granddaughter, Hazel; many cousins; other relatives and many friends.

In lieu of flowers donations are preferred to the VFW Post 2482 in St. Clair for John Kriete Memorial Building Fund.
