John Hughes, 54, of Lonedell, passed away, unexpectedly, Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur.

On January 27, 1968, John was born to the union of Donald Hughes and LeiLanni (Medows) in Sullivan.

John was the proud owner of "Medows Closet & Bath". The business was originally started by his uncle, Tracey Medows Sr.; John worked in the business since the beginning. After Tracey passed away, John was able to step up and keep the business going and turned it into the great success that it is today. It was a proud and bitter-sweet moment for him and the family, but it couldn't have been done without his hard work and dedication.

On July 17, 2020, John was united in marriage to Bobbie (Gansner) in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

John was very much an outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, boating and being on the open road with his motorcycle. Most of all John was a family man and loved his family unconditionally. John will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Hughes and his brother Ronnie Lee.

John is survived by his wife, Bobbie Hughes of Lonedell, two sons, Bass Hughes of Lonedell and Creek Hughes of Lonedell; three daughters, Amber Riegel and significant other Kenny Posey of Union, Celeste Siebuhr of St. Charles and Courtney Thiemann and significant other Noah Miller of Warrenton; his mother, LeiLanni (Skip) Hafley of Wildwood; brother, LJ Hughes of Lonedell; two sisters, Debbie Hughes of Wildwood and Rhoda Rickey and husband Matt of Villa Ridge; two grandchildren, Braxton Miller and Kinsley Miller; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
