John H. Huff, 87, of St. Clair passed away, Sunday, August 6, 2017 at his home.

Mr. Huff, son of the late Virgil Huff and wife Corrine nee Burlage was born June 2, 1930 in Lonedell.

He served his country in the United States Army with active duty in the Korean War.

On June 6, 1964, he was united in marriage to Evelyn Spurgeon in St. Louis.

John was a self-employed Over the Road Truck Driver and was very proud of the fact of being ticket free throughout his career.

He was a sixty-year member of the American Legion Post #347.

Mr. Huff was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Corrine Huff; his wife, Evelyn Huff and his son, Steven "Shag" D. Wright.

He is survived by three sons, Jerry Wright and wife Cindy of Lonedell, Richard Spurgeon of Murphysboro, IL and John R. Huff of St. Clair; one brother, Kenneth Huff of Potosi; two sisters, Opal Montgomery of Arkansas and Pat Pennock and husband Marvin of Sullivan; six grandchildren, Benjamin Wright of Sullivan, Nicole Belt of Sullivan, Christina Harrison and husband Josh of Washington, Heather Wright of St. Clair, Zack Mesey and wife Kelsy of Sullivan and Seth Mesey of Sullivan; nine great-grandchildren, Trevor, Haleigh, Kali, Dakota, Cooper, Makenzie, Max, Daniel and Aria Evelyn; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends.
