John L. Erfurdt Jr., of Washington, passed away on April 10, 2026, at the age of 83. He was born on June 19, 1942, in Washington, MO to John and Lydia (Koepke) Erfurdt Sr.
John and Linda (Gist) were united in marriage on January 14,1967. From this union 3 children were born. John was well known as a Sheriff's Deputy for Franklin for many years. He was a Past Master Mason of Hope Lodge #251 and served as secretary from 1990-2016, Past Worthy Patron of the Eastern Star, a member of the Moolah Shriners, and a life-long member of the Odd Fellows in Washington where he held many fraternal positions. His biggest hobbies were guns and he loved reloading ammunition.
He is survived by his loving children, John Erfurdt III and his wife Rachael of Villa Ridge, James Erfurdt and wife Dee Dee of Olive Branch, MS, and Margaret Henning and husband Mark of Washington, three grandsons, Kaine, Gus and Donovan Erfurdt, and his half- brother Kevin Erfurdt of Cincinnati.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Linda Erfurdt (Gist), his parents and his stepsister Linda Creech.
