Jesse Dougherty, 82 of Catawissa passed away Sunday, December 27, 2015 at his home.

Mr. Dougherty, son of the late Arthur Dougherty and wife Bertha nee Keith was born September 15, 1933 in Macey, Arkansas.

On December 6, 1951 he was united in marriage to Shirley Beaton in Piggott, Arkansas.

Mr. Dougherty was a member of First Assembly of God Church Gray Summit.  He participated in building four different churches and made a point to be involved in church projects.  He loved to sing and play gospel music.

He was an avid bowler and frequented many area establishments for league play and traveling teams.  In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and taking pride in his garden.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Bertha Dougherty; his wife Shirley Dougherty; three brothers, Bill Dougherty, Junior Dougherty and Ray Dougherty and one sister, Paralee McFarlin.

Mr. Dougherty is survived by one daughter, Kathy Tscharner and husband Bill of St. Peters; two sons, Jerry Dougherty Sr. and wife Angela of Pacific and Charles Dougherty and wife Toni of Pacific; one sister, Bernice Tompkins of Monette, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Amanda Stewart and husband Jeff, Josh Bowman and wife Tasha, Sara Miller and husband James, Jerry Dougherty Jr., Andrielle Dougherty and Hunter Dougherty; great-granddaughter, Ashlynn Bowman; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
