Jerry L. DeWitt Sr., 72, of Union, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017 in Union.

Mr. DeWitt, son of the late Melvin DeWitt and wife Sylvia nee Cole was born December 10, 1944 in Raymondville, Missouri.

On September 5, 1964, he was united in marriage to Carolyn Hicks in Houston, Missouri.

He was employed at Chrysler Corporation in Fenton until his retirement after twenty-five years of service.

Mr. DeWitt was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Sylvia DeWitt; two brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn DeWitt of Union; one son, Jerry Lynn DeWitt Jr. and wife Dena of Union; two daughters, Deanna Cowsert and husband Rob of Villa Ridge and Dawn Jenkins and husband Mark of Union; one brother, Clay DeWitt and wife Petra; three sisters, Janet Bell, Becky Sawyer and Patsy Drake and husband Steve; nine grandchildren, Robert (Juliana) Cowsert, Randy (Tara) Cowsert, Dustin Cowsert, Keith Jenkins, Kayla Jenkins, Kieley DeWitt, Hailey DeWitt, Blake DeWitt and Bryce DeWitt; three great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
