Janice Bacon (Garland), 82, of Gerald passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, October 2, 2021 in Gerald.

Janice, daughter of Melvin Garland and wife Margaret (Mulberry) was born May 27, 1939 in Roxanna, Illinois.

On October 8, 1960 she was united in marriage to Robert "Bob" Bacon in Union.

Janice was a member of The Ridge Church in Villa Ridge. She enjoyed going to the Union Senior Center, playing Bingo and cards.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Margaret Garland; her husband, Robert "Bob" Bacon; two brothers, Jerry Garland and Bill Garland and wife Bernice and three sisters, Jewel Bacon, Wealthea Jane Pehle and Marlene Ouellette.

She is survived by four children, Jana Smith and husband Eddie of Owensville, Joyce Hohlt and husband Jeff of Leslie, Rodney Bacon of Washington and Jalene Rice of Springfield, MO; one brother, Jim Garland and wife Pat of Lebanon, IN; five grandchildren, Jennifer LaBarge and husband Emmett, Jordan Smith and wife Mary, Jeffrey Hohlt, Zane Rice and Lace Rice; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
