Janey Marie (Smith) Knutson, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at the age of 56 in Washington, MO.

She was born on June 3, 1969, to Mr. and Mrs. Leon and Mary (Hance) Smith in St. Louis, MO.

Janey worked for many years as a manager at McDonald’s in Union. She enjoyed working with others and getting to know her customers. She loved animals, especially her two dogs Daisy and Dixie. Janey loved to travel, take cruises, fish and go to the beach. One of her favorite places to visit was Hawaii. She lived in Florida prior to making Missouri her home once again. Janey will be remembered as a good, thoughtful and loving person. Always willing to help someone in need and many looked up to her as a mentor. She was an exceptional motherly aunt to her nephews.

Janey is survived by her brother Joseph “Joe” Smith of Leesburg, aunt of David Smith and fiancée Jessica Huyser and LeAnn Kallmbah, loving great aunt of 7, her precious pups Daisy and Dixie, cousins, other relatives and many many friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her nephew, Austin Smith (Dec. 2, 2024).

A Celebration of Life for Janey will be held at a later date.
