Jan Palmer, nee Holliday, 74, of Union, passed away in Washington on Saturday, April 13, 2024.  She was born February 20, 1950, in Washington, MO; the daughter of Lawrence Holiday and Bertha (Crider) Holliday.

Jan had worked as a custodian at the Union High School for thirty-six years before her retirement. She was a member of the Union Baptist Temple. Jan enjoyed fishing and flower gardening in her spare time.  She had a love for pets and almost any kind of music, especially music that made her want to dance.  Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Bertha Holliday; her husband, Harold Palmer; significant other, Marvin Bates; and two brothers: Ronnie Marts and Billy Marts.

Jan is survived by one daughter, Lacy Sincox of Union; one son, Jeffery Bates of Washington; one sister, Kathy Kaver and husband Lawrence of Union; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, her four-legged companion, Tootsie; nieces; nephews; cousins and many friends.
