James R. Riegel 73, of Washington passed away Sunday, December 8, 2013 at his home.

Mr. Riegel, son of the late August Riegel and wife Margaret nee Meyer was born November 24, 1940 in Washington.

On September 30, 1967 he was united in marriage to Donna Bradshaw in Krakow.

Mr. Riegel served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and received an honorable discharge. He was a member of the American Legion Post 218 in Washington.

He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Margaret Riegel; his wife Donna Riegel and two brothers, Herman Riegel and Victor Riegel.

Mr. Riegel is survived by three sons, SGT. 1st Class Thomas Riegel and wife Michelle of California State, Michael Riegel and wife Lisa of Washington and Kenneth Riegel and wife Jodie of Leslie; four brothers, Edward Riegel of Washington, Ralph Riegel of Washington, Ronald Riegel of Stony Hill and Donald Riegel of Berger; two sisters, Bernice Altholz of Union and Loretta Voyles of Belle; twelve grandchildren, SGT. Joseph Hill, Jacqueline Riegel, Ryan Riegel, Katelyn Riegel, Jenna Riegel, Morgan Riegel, Carter Riegel, Jason Landwier, Jamie Riegel, Haley Bohnert, Jacob Riegel and Paige Bohnert; two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Lillian; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
