James "Jim" B. Parsons III of Washington, MO was born April 14, 1936 in St. Louis, MO; the son of James B. Parsons Jr. and his wife, Ruth (nee Cox).  Jim passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at the age of 86 years.  He was united in marriage to Catherine "Kitty" Moon on December 31, 1955 in Waterloo, Il.  He was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Washington.  Jim loved taking rides in the country and anything that had to do with nature.  He enjoyed all types of music, ranging from country to classical, and reading.  The time Jim cherished most of all was the time spent with his family and he will be dearly missed.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ruth Parsons; three children: James B. Parsons IV, Donald L. Parsons, and Richard M. Parsons; and two sisters: June Harvey and Marion Bailey.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Kitty Parsons of Washington; one daughter, Christina S. Rose and husband Tom of St. Clair; four grandchildren: Erika (Andrew) Haydon, Daniel L. Parsons, James B. Parsons V, and Nathaniel A. Parsons; two great-grandchildren: Kayleigh and Sadie Haydon; two sisters: Shirley Richter and husband Don of Union, and Joyce Cotner of O'Fallon; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Jim was truly a friend to all.
