James "Jim" Edward McKinnon, 70, of Sullivan, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2021, at his home.

On August 24, 1950, Jim was born to the union of Howard McKinnon and Ruby (Lewis) in St. Louis.

Jim enjoyed fishing, tinkering and building. He loved being outdoors, sitting outside, mushroom hunting and camping. Most of all Jim loved spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Ruby McKinnon; four brothers, Charles McKinnon, Herbert McKinnon, William McKinnon and Howard McKinnon; four sisters, Norma Johnson, Linda McKinnon, Janet Ford and Margaret Miles.

Jim is survived by his wife, Monica McKinnon of Sullivan; son, T.J. McKinnon and fiancé Erin Carle of Pacific; one daughter, Amanda Sue Schindler and husband Nathan of Union; step-daughter, Angel House and husband Michael of Sullivan; three sisters, Brenda Oakley of Pacific, Diananna Barton of Texas and Patricia McMullen and husband Bill of Sherman; six grandchildren, Brandon, Reed, Charity, Megan, Taylor and Jackson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
