Jakob Bennet
Yount
July 18, 2002 – February 21, 2018
It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Jakob Yount, 15, who passed away unexpectedly this week.
Jakob, son of Brian Yount and wife DeAnn nee Alexander was born July 18, 2002 in St. Louis.
Jakob had a quick wit, was ridiculously good at computers, and had many talents including mathematics, research, and technology.
When he was young, Jakob enjoyed nerf gun fights, building Legos, playing outside, and going to the park. He grew up in a house of story-tellers with Ethan taking the lead on movie ideas, often pulling Jakob into dramas which led to wider collaborations with friends and cousins. This love of story and technology morphed into a Minecraft creation-obsession followed by research and building his own computer. When Jakob had an interest, it was a full-fledged dive into researching and discovering as much as possible about the subject. Although he was diagnosed with a chronic syndrome that caused exhaustion among other symptoms, Jakob was present at family gatherings - most recently to celebrate his Grandpa's 85th birthday. Jakob had a special place in his heart for animals and babies and showed that tenderness towards his pets, baby cousins, and so many more.
He will be missed for his dry sense of humor and sweet spirit.
Jakob was a student at Berea Academy in St. Louis and member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Union.
"Precious in the sight of the Lord are the death of his saints." Psalm 116:17
Jakob was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bob and Kathleen (Upchurch) Yount.
He leaves behind his parents, Brian and DeAnn Yount of Dittmer; his older brother, Ethan Yount (18) of Dittmer; grandparents, Phylliss Yount of Alpine CA and Paul and Lorraine Alexander of Union; aunts and uncles, Jane Yount of St. Louis, Steve Yount and wife Phylliss of Rockwall, TX, Junia Haas and husband David of Fenton, Charysse Alexander of Atlanta, GA and Greg Alexander and wife Rachel of Houston, TX; many cousins; other relatives along with a wide extended family.Trinity Presbyterian Church
