Jackie Powers, 84, of Lonedell, passed away, Sunday, April 24, 2022, at St. Clair Nursing Center.
On April 27, 1937, Jackie was born to the union of Ernest Reuben McKinley Powers and Lessie (Isbell).
Jackie was united in marriage to Venida Jane Poindexter on May 11, 1955, in Arkansas.
He served as a Deacon at Bethel Baptist Church of Lonedell for over 36 years. Jackie was also a proud member of the Master's Builders; a group that would aid in the reconstruction of churches affected by natural disasters, fires, floods etc.
He retired from being a district manager for AmeriGas after 16 years.
Jackie was known for being a jack of all trades.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Jackie was a craftsman and loved building things. He played the drums for a gospel band when him and his family first moved to Missouri. Most of all, Jackie loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Venida Powers; second wife, Norma Powers; his parents, Ernest and Lessie Powers; three brothers, Larry, Orville and Charles; six sisters, Mary, Brenda, Lorez, Lois, Patricia and Jean.
Jackie is survived by his two sons, Mark Powers of Robertsville and Jason Powers and wife Michele of California; two daughters, Velinda Eastham and husband Robert of Michigan and Stacie Hatfield and husband David of St. Clair; brother, Eddie Powers; sister, Linda Barker; ten grandchildren, Mesha and husband Shane, Megan and fiancé Junior, Christina and wife Krystin, Courtney and husband Mike, Kenneth and wife Megan, Katie and husband Brandon, Nicole, Alisha and husband Chris, Andrew and wife Amanda and Abigail; twenty-one great-grandchildren, Alex, Josh, Benjamin, Ethan, Nathan, Zyon, Adinev, Penelope, Kalilah, Nora, Brennon, Devon, Kennzee, K.J., Amiliah, Shannon, Ellie, Jackson, Oscar, Harlow and Kenneth; other relatives and many friends.
In lieu of flowers memorial are appreciated to be sent to Bethel Baptist Church for the benefit of the Meramec Retreat Center.
