Jack J. Mescher, 83, of Washington passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2022, in Washington, Missouri.

Jack, son of Fritz Mescher and wife Gladys (Smith) was born September 2, 1938, in Metropolis, Illinois.

On April 10, 1972, he was united in marriage to Phyllis Hoss.

Jack was the previous owner of the family business, Franklin County Glass that is now owned and operated by his son Michael Mescher.

Jack was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Washington where he enjoyed worshiping there.

He took great pride in making sure his yard was well taken care of. He loved hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. He and Phyllis enjoyed traveling the country in their RV and wintering in Texas and Florida.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Fritz and Gladys Mescher; three siblings, Virgil Mescher, Lawanda Mescher and Mary Beasley and his stepson, Lee Vickers, and wife Donna.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Mescher of Washington; three sons, Mark Mescher and wife Terri of New Haven, Michael Mescher and partner Rick Bartlett of New Haven, Monte Mescher of Metropolis, IL; one daughter, Melinda Alexander and partner Beth Good of Debary, FL; eleven grandchildren, Debbie Calvert, Brandi Nadler, Blaine Mescher, Ashley Weilbacher, Gabrielle Chamberlain, Madyson Mescher, Leeah Crawford, Lydia Pelton, Benjamin Mescher, Tiffany Acton and Charlie Acton; thirteen great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Association are preferred.
