Obituary

Jack G. Dawson Sr., 88, of Washington passed away peacefully at his home, Friday morning, January 5, 2018 at his home.

Jack was born December 28, 1929 in White Hall, IL to George P. Dawson and Alice nee Bradshaw.

Jack attended school in Washington and entered the US. Navy in 1947.

On April 4, 1951, Jack and Diana Beas were united in Holy Matrimony and had three children.

Jack joined the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 513 in 1951 and continued until his retirement.

He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Washington and member of the Moolah Shriners Motorcycle Brigade.

Jack is survived by his wife Diana Dawson of Washington; two sons, Dan Dawson and Jack Dawson Jr. both of Washington; one daughter, Mickey Perry of Washington; Jack and Diana were blessed with eight grandchildren, Tiffany (Craig) Jarvis, Courtenay Straatmann, Rhys (Kasey) Straatmann, Tierney Dell, Aaron (Valerie) Dawson, Joshua (Kim) Dawson, Danielle Dawson and Nick Oberndorfer; nine-teen great-grandchildren; four brothers, George Lee (Betty) Dawson, David (Jeanne) Dawson, Bill (Dianne) Dawson and John (Molly) Dawson; two sisters, Delores (Bob) Kluesner and Alice Coleman; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George P. and Alice Dawson; one sister, Donna Fennessey and two brothers-in-law, Phillip Coleman and Jim Fennessey.
