Irene Weber (Sohn), 92, of St. Clair departed this life Tuesday, February 15, 2022 in St. Clair.
Irene, daughter of Albert and Josephine Sohn was born September 1, 1929 in St. Clair.
On June 22, 1946 she was united in marriage to Wilburn Weber and four children came to bless
this union.
Irene is survived by two sons, Michael Lynn Weber of Sullivan and David Allen Weber of St. Clair; one sister, Opal Kamper of St. Clair; four grandchildren, Shane Weber, Brandon Weber and wife Lynn, Ryan Weber and wife Liz and Nicole Miller and husband Jay; eight great-grandchildren, Emilee, Carlee, Natalie, Cameron, Brenlynn, Madelynn, Zoey and Reagan; five step-great-grandchildren, Jessica and husband Billie, Garrett, Gabe, Brian and Paiton; one great-great-grandchild, Kinsley; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends. A special thanks to her cousin, Stan Hansel for his help and support.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Josephine Sohn; step-mother, Minnie; her husband, Wilburn Weber; two sons, Ronald Weber and Gary Weber; four sisters, Juanita, Alberta, Elsie, Selma; two step-brothers, Allen Sutterfield and Richard Sutterfield and a great grandson, Camren Weber.
Irene was a Christian and member of the Virginia Mines Baptist Church in Lonedell. Irene
worked in shoe factories for 32 years. Her hobbies were many. She loved planting flowers and
caring for them, making quilts for her children and grandchildren, cooking and baking their
favorite cakes from scratch such as carrot and German Chocolate on their birthdays. Most of all
Irene enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They
each had a special place in her heart, just as she did in theirs.
Memorial donations to Virginia Mines Baptist Church or United Methodist Church Cemetery are preferred.
