Harold "John" Johnson, 83, of St. Clair passed away Saturday, March 7, 2020 in St. Clair.

John, son of Vaught Johnson and Nina (Swafford) was born March 10, 1936 in Arkansas.

John was a proud member of AA for 39 years and well known in the community for helping countless others during his time. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and being an avid outdoorsman on many levels.

John was preceded in death by his father at a young age, Vaught Johnson; his parents, Stephen and Nina Gillaspy; one brother, Alvin Gillaspy and niece, Cheryl Nichlas.

He is survived by his daughter, Deana Emily and husband Gary of Grubville; three siblings, Ben Johnson and wife Kay of Pevely, Webb Johnson and wife Dora of Fairdealing and June Arnett and husband Larry of Arnold; one granddaughter, Lyndsey Johnson of Grubville; one great-granddaughter, Caitlyn; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Memorial donations to the Missouri Department of Conservation are preferred.
