Harold Canaday, 85 of Union passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013 in Washington.

Mr. Canaday, son of the late Miles Canaday and wife Mary nee Hall was born March 1, 1928 in Dana, Indiana.

On June 25, 1950 he was united in marriage to Loretta Hughes in Cayuga, Indiana.

Mr. Canaday served in the Ministry for the Church of the Nazarene in many states for over 60 years until his retirement.

After his retirement Harold took up his skills as a Master Craftsman in cabinetry and woodworking as a hobby. Also, he spent time in the huge garden he took so much pride in growing. He was a faithful member of Word of Life Church of the Nazarene in Union.

Mr. Canaday was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Loretta Canaday; infant daughter, Diane Fae Canaday; one brother, Donald Canaday and one sister, Peggy Jackson.

He is survived by two sons, Paul Canaday and wife Shirley of Mount Zion, IL and Darrell Canaday and wife LaVonne of Lee Summit, MO; three daughters, Patricia Harris and husband Phil of Olympia, Washington, Bonnie Sandlin and husband Kevin of Breman, Alabama and Connie Daud and husband Gary of Union; three sisters, Erma Merrill of Texas, Mary Hutchinson of Grafton, IL and Helen Laza of Texas; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
