Gloria Jean Hayes (Maloney) of Union, MO was born May 16, 1944 in St. Charles, MO; the daughter of James Maloney Sr. and his wife, Genevieve (Bushdiecker).  Gloria passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023 at the age of 79 years.

She was united in marriage to Gary Hayes on February 2, 2002 in Union, MO.  Gloria was employed at Sunset Nursing Home in Union for many years until her retirement in 2014.  She enjoyed doing her word search books and shopping for clothes.  The time Gloria cherished most was the time spent with her family and friends, and she will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Genevieve Maloney Sr.; her husband, Gary Hayes; three brothers: Billy Maloney, James Maloney Jr., and David Maloney; and four sisters: Florence Maloney, Loraine Maloney, Mary Maloney, and Alice Nieder.

She is survived by one son, Keith Schatzler and wife Tanya of Union, MO; one daughter, Sue Whitaker of Union, MO; two brothers, Robert Maloney and wife Lorena of Marthasville, MO, and John Gilbert; two sisters: Doris Reeder of St. Charles, MO and Peggy Kraftmeyer of Eolia, MO; five grandchildren: Jacob Schatzler, Lucas Schatzler, Libby (Dakota) Thurmond, Lisa (Joe) Whitaker, and Robert Whitaker; two great-grandchildren: Hunter and Colt Thurmond; and many other relatives and friends.

Memorials in honor of Gloria Hayes can be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
