Gayle Ann Scarborough (Metzger), 67, of Washington passed away Monday, February 21, 2022 at her home.

Gayle, daughter of Ernest Metzger and wife Audrey (Schuler) was born January 5, 1954 in St. Louis.

On July 6, 1979 she was united in marriage to John Scarborough in Spanish Lake, Missouri.

As an avid bowler she was on many leagues over the years. She enjoyed growing plants and flowers in her garden and was known as a fanatical organizer. Gayle had a smile to remember, what meant most was being a great mom and grandma.

Gayle was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Metzger.

She is survived by her husband, John Scarborough of Washington; three sons, Scott Scarborough and wife Elizabeth of Ballwin, Kyle Scarborough and wife Maggie of Washington and Troy Scarborough and wife Sara of Washington; her mother, Audrey Metzger of O'Fallon, MO; three sisters, Linda Gilmore-Harsey and husband Mark, Nancy Hinson and Janice Saylor all of O'Fallon, MO; eight grandchildren, Jordan, Elum, Emmett, Leila, Jackson, Rosemaren, Madison and Aubrey; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
